KROHNE ANNOUNCES OPTISONIC 7300 ULTRASONIC BIOGAS FLOWMETER Specially designed to offer direct measurement of dry and wet biogas with variable composition KROHNE, Inc. now offers the OPTISONIC 7300 Biogas ultrasonic flowmeter, which has been specially designed to measure dry and wet biogas with variable composition. The flowmeter provides additional functions like calculation of standard volume, methane content measurement, and diagnostics features. It features no moving parts and no pressure loss. OPTISONIC 7300 Biogas overcomes the limitations of the ultrasonic principle in biogas applications due to high damping of the acoustic signals by carbon dioxide and high water content in the biogas. Its signal transducers provide a stronger ultrasonic signal into the gas, and specialized signal processing enables better detection of small, strongly dampened acoustic signals. These features, along with the mechanical design of transducers and transducer pockets, make the measurement insensitive to liquid water and biological scaling. OPTISONIC 7300 Biogas features a maintenance-free full bore flow sensor without any moving parts. Because the hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in biogas is corrosive when dissolved in water, the measuring tube is made of stainless steel 1.4404/316L and the transducers are made of NACE-approved grade 29 Titanium for maximum corrosion resistance. OPTISONIC 7300 Biogas is equipped with lap joint flanges to lower its overall weight. The measurement accuracy is specified at 1 percent of actual measured flow rate, when calibrated with air, starting from 3.28 feet per second flow velocity. When 2 percent accuracy is sufficient, users can select a dry calibration alternative at a significantly lower price. OPTISONIC 7300 Biogas features a built-in temperature sensor that facilitates direct measurement of methane content using calculation of the molar mass, in combination with the measured velocity of sound. This enables end users to determine the exact methane content of the biogas, necessary when the biogas is used as fuel for gas engines in a combined heat and power (CHP) unit. It can also provide calculation of gas flow volume to standard conditions by using an additional pressure sensor. The electronics also Krohne OPTISONIC 7300 include diagnostics to validate the flowmeter functions and the process. For output of the measured values, 4…20mA and pulse outputs are available. HART and Modbus (optional) are included for field communication. OPTISONIC 7300 Biogas is certified for use in explosive areas (zone 1). Since no pressure drop is generally allowed in biogas pipelines, the device is available in common line sizes of 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 inches. About KROHNE KROHNE is a worldwide technological leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of accurate, reliable and cost-effective measuring instruments for the process industries. FUEL-LOC: NEW BRAND, NEW OPORTUNITY, NEW PARTNERSHIP Fuel-Loc is a locally produced up-and-coming South African petroleum tanker equipment brand. Fuel-Loc has been conceived from the need to have a South African product for the tanker industry to choose from. The belief is that it will allow the industry to select a quality brand that is produced, supported and guaranteed in South Africa. The expectation is to create price stability and dependability in the current climate of volatile exchange rates and trade tariff uncertainties. Fuel-Loc products are designed by a passionate and experienced group of professionals. Each member of the team has their own specialised and niche set of skills, allowing for the process of product creation and support to benefit from their years of experience and knowledge. Fuel-Loc has partnered with a local engineering services company: Drawing and Fabrication (D&F). This has ensured that Fuel-Loc is able to obtain the quality and reliability that is required in an engineering partner in order to be confident to offer a dependable product that will be of value to the end user. Main Product Philosophies: Fuel-Loc products are designed to conform to all major international and local standards and specifications. In addition to this the appropriate and best materials have been selected and used in the manufacture and design of these products. The solutions have been designed with current leading products and installations in mind. This will allow for ease of installation as no modifications will be required to fit the new products. Why Local Manufacture and Design? As these products are locally designed and manufactured the end user is able to be actively involved in the entire process. If a customised solution to a specific challenge is required, options can easily be investigated and challenges resolved. Even if it is not a standard product, entire new customer specific solutions can be designed and created. guidelines and understanding of the implications of a malfunction. Manufacturing is done in line with ISO guidelines and full batch inspection is done during manufacturing and assembly. In closing we would like to encourage future clients to afford us the opportunity to grow with them as we embark on our new journey; hopefully a new journey that will in time become a valuable partnership. Why Trust the Brand? All products are designed and tested in accordance with strict Contact: Email: Web: RICHTER VALVES INTRODUCES THE FIRST PFA LINED TANK BOTTOM VALVE SYSTEM Richter Chemie-Technik GmbH, a global leader in PFA lined pump and valve solutions, has introduced the first PFA lined Tank bottom valve system. To increase safety and efficiency of mobile tank operation, Richter has developed a new universal corrosion-resistant bottom valve, associated butterfly valve and the first PFA-lined 3” BSP flange. Richter has succeeded in significantly increasing product life, reducing maintenance and optimizing the operating costs of tank containers. The product also increased safety by implementing a remote lever for closing and opening outside of the danger zone. Universally corrosion resistant PFA lining allows maximum flexibility in various applications. The new design reduces potential leakage risk. It also eliminates high costs from damage to the lining, broken locking mechanisms or flaking off of thin Halar® coatings, while increasing products lifespan. The bottom valve TE / F combines the proven technology of Richter ball valve series KN / KNA and the Richter butterfly valve NKS in numerous worldwide applications in chemical plants. It enables the safe transport of highly corrosive and environmentally hazardous liquids. Both series are already recognized for their reliability, ease of maintenance and long service life in the chemical industry. The ranges have been consistently adapted to the extreme requirements and are based on more than 30 years of experience with lined valves for use in various areas of the chemical industry. The new products for mobile tank containers are reliable solutions that ensure the tank’s absolute leak-tightness; overall, improving environmental protection and increasing the safety of its personnel.
