FactoryTalk Network

FactoryTalk Network Manager Software Simplifies Network Operations and Maintenance New software provides centralised visibility into networked assets and speeds up device deployment. Plant-floor personnel have the difficult task of monitoring and maintaining a growing number of IoT devices on their networks. Rather than using complex or unfamiliar IT tools to do this, they can use the new FactoryTalk Network Manager software from Rockwell Automation. It allows them to monitor the health of their Allen-Bradley Stratix managed switches, troubleshoot switch issues and quickly configure new managed switches all from one easy-to-use software interface. “Many plant-floor personnel struggle to piece together information about managed switches and devices from different sources,” said Lorenzo Majewski, product manager, Rockwell Automation. “With the FactoryTalk Network Manager software, they can access this information in one collective spot. In addition, real-time alarms and events from network switches can help them conduct faster, more precise troubleshooting.” With potentially hundreds if not thousands of devices in a large facility, users can get overwhelmed by the amount of information they need to manage. The FactoryTalk Network Manager software automatically discovers assets, their associated IP addresses, and creates a topology of these connected devices. The software’s intuitive interface offers grouping of equipment along with dashboard information, so users can organise devices into specific areas or analyse them individually. The software also uses user-created configuration templates to get new switches up and running faster and more efficiently. These templates can be shared across an organisation, or with OEMs and system integrators to further ease network deployments, commissions and maintenance efforts. The FactoryTalk Network Manager software provides role-based access control with auditing capabilities to help track userspecific activities and changes. The software supports multiple protocols, including FactoryTalk Network Manager software allows plant floor personnel to monitor the health of their Allen-Bradley Stratix managed switches, troubleshoot switch issues and quickly configure new managed switches all from one easy-to-use software interface. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Common Industrial Protocol (CIP), Modbus, BACnet and PROFINET. Access to the web-based platform is available via a personal computer in a control room or a mobile device on the plant floor. As part of the Integrated Architecture system from Rockwell Automation, the FactoryTalk Network Manager software provides seamless integration with the Stratix family of industrial network switches. Zwick Triple Eccentric Valve with Superior Operating Characteristics With its triple eccentric design and metal-to-metal sealing, the TRI-CON Series guarantees an ideal valve design. • True cone in cone sealing • Frictionless operating • Low torques • Constant closing angle on the total circumference The operating characteristics and the tightness of the valve are not influenced by high differences in temperatures and pressure fluctuations because of the triple eccentric geometry and the valves’ special features. Maximum service life is achieved by eliminating any “rubbing” between the laminated seal around the total circumference during seating which enables a frictionless opening and closing. This guarantees full tightness and low operating torques. Next Generation Wifi Fibre Optic Connector Inspection System FOCIS-WiFi2. COMTEST’s latest offering from AFL is the aeRos® connected FOCIS WiFi2, the next generation fibre optic connector inspection system that uses an Android or iOS wireless connection for live image video streaming, auto-focus and more. The FOCIS WiFi2 probe is ergonomic and lightweight, fitting perfectly and balancing naturally in the hand. The probe hardware has a single multipurpose button, a single multi-colour functional status LED, and a battery charging port for all day mobility. The status LED enhances workflow productivity by allowing rapid operator assessment of the cleanliness of the fibre endface - either passing or failing standard rules—as well as “fibre not found” error notification. “According to industry studies, contaminated fibre endfaces typically account for 85 percent of optical network failures,” explained Maury Wood, product line manager for AFL’s Test & Inspection division. “With the advent of broadband and enterprise data center links at 100 Gbps and higher, the universal adherence to best practice fibre cleaning and inspection methods is an operational imperative. AFL is the leader in the Internet of Test, and the FOCIS WiFi2 is clear evidence of this leadership.” The FOCIS WiFi2 uses AFL’s large portfolio of inspection adapter tips for both connectors and bulkhead sleeves, including all 2.5 mm (SC, FC, ST) and 1.25 mm (LC) ferrules, as well as multi-fibre connectors and bulkhead sleeves (MPO/MTP/MPO16). AFL offers an adapter tip for high density LC PC/UPC optical distribution frames as well. The free FOCIS WiFi2 app (both Android and iOS) supports live image video streaming, auto-focus, IEC / IPC standard and user-customized pass/fail auto-analysis, pinch-to-zoom on endface images, report generation, multi-language GUI support and day/time stamped job saving. FOCIS WiFi2 is the latest addition to AFL’s extensive inspection and cleaning product portfolio, which includes the OFS300 optical and VS300 video microscopes, the DFS1 digital microscope, the FOCIS WiFi PRO wireless fibrescope and the FOCIS Flex handheld Bluetooth® inspection probe with integrated screen. The One-Click® and CLETOP® cleaners, the FCC2 cleaning fluid and the FibreWipes complete the product portfolio of fibre endface cleaning products.
